Purposes

The World Education Forum, such as the World Social Forum, is supported by two basic pillars: The construction of an alternative by to the neoliberal project and the pluralism of ideas, methods and conceptions; being a plural, non-confessional, non-government and non-party space, truly worldwide.

The purpose of the World Education Forum is to prepare a set of guidelines which may be part of the world’s reflections, aiming at agreeing upon educational policies, plans, programs and projects, in all education levels, focusing on the rupture with the neoliberal policies in education which assume the perspective of asserting education as a public policy, and therefore a State’s duty available to all peoples.

Specific purposes

 • Mobilize the institutions, networks and movements linked to the education industry for debate and management of alternative proposals to the neoliberal project in education;

 • Make possible the exchange of educational experiences among educators, researchers, students and members of social movements in this area;

 • Deepen the epistemological, political and ethical references, committed with the popular, democratic and inclusive education;

• Disseminate educational experiences based on the education democratization process, as a practice of possibility of another feasible world.
